Sub-surface oceanographic data is prohibitively expensive to collect, leading to data scarcity in shelf seas, coastal areas and polar regions. These data are however critical for a wide range of maritime industries and sciences, including weather forecasting and climate change monitoring. BDC works together with fishermen to fill the ocean data gaps. BDC’s mission is to collect high quality and cost effective ocean data, and thereby also to connect the traditionally divergent users of ocean space.
