Naturbeads Ltd is a startup commercializing sustainable and biodegradable cellulose ingredients. Our cellulose microspheres have been successfully tested in cosmetic and personal care products, paints and coating, adhesive, packaging and many other industrial and consumers applications to replace polluting plastic microbeads. Naturbeads cellulose microspheres are 100% biodegradable and show the same performance of plastic microbeads.

• 5 Innovate UK Grants totalling ~£1.7 million to build two pilot plants and expand applications across personal care, cosmetics, paints, coatings, and consumer sectors.
• 2 UK Government Research Contracts (£200K) to test cellulose beads in biocatalysis.
• Eureka Project Grant (£250K) to advance technology to TRL 6 (starting October 2022).
• Royal Society of Chemistry Internship Grant (£4,200) for cultured meat applications.
• Two additional 3-month Internship Grants from RSC (£4,000 total).
